L.E.A.D. Experience
Learn. Engage.Activate. Discover.
What if leadership training wasn’t just another workshop, but an experience that transformed how you lead?
In a world where connection, resilience, and adaptability determine success, traditional classroom training often falls short. That’s why Talent Magnet Institute has partnered with Camp Joy to create the L.E.A.D. Experience, an immersive outdoor leadership development that combines TMI’s people-first leadership philosophy with Camp Joy’s experiential learning environment.
This isn’t just about learning concepts. It’s about developing self-awareness, building authentic relationships, and discovering what you’re capable of when you step outside your comfort zone.
What is L.E.A.D.?

The Format:
- Kick-off: Multi-day immersive retreat at Camp Joy
- Duration: 6-month or 12-month cohort options
- Facilitation: TMI executive faculty + Camp Joy program experts
- Monthly sessions: Blending experiential learning with practical application
- Location: Initially at Camp Joy’s outdoor facility, but with other locations throughout the program
What Makes It Difference:
- You learn by doing, not just discussing
- Outdoor challenges build confidence and reveal leadership patterns
- Small cohorts create deep trust and lasting relationships
- Integration of TMI’s unconventional leadership framework with hands-on experience
- Option to continue beyond the program as a peer advisory group

Frequently Asked Questions
When is the next L.E.A.D. launching?
L.E.A.D. cohorts kick off regularly but will depend on the availability of the Camp Joy facilities. Communicate your interest and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.
What’s the time commitment?
The kick-off retreat is a multi-day immersive experience, followed by monthly sessions over 6 or 12 months depending on your program choice.
Do I need to be physically fit to participate?
No! Camp Joy’s experiential activities are designed to challenge your thinking and collaboration skills, not your athleticism. Activities are adaptable to different physical abilities.
What if weather is bad?
Camp Joy has indoor facilities and backup plans. Rain or shine, the experience continues (and sometimes, unexpected weather challenges can create the best learning moments).
Can my leadership team do this together?
Absolutely. While L.E.A.D. is designed for individual leaders from different organizations, it can be an excellent way for existing teams to learn and grow together. Reach out to our team to discuss how to customize the experience for your team.
How is this different from team building?
L.E.A.D. is leadership development that uses experiential challenges as a learning method. It’s not a one-day team-building event, it’s a sustained cohort journey focused on developing self-aware, people-first leaders.
Ready to Transform How You Lead?
The L.E.A.D. Experience isn’t for everyone. It’s for leaders ready to step outside the classroom, challenge themselves, and discover what’s possible when leadership development meets real experience.
